A TOWER OF POWER IN SPAIN

- JANE PAULEY TO HOST ' CBS SUNDAY MORNING'

Jane Pauley will succeed Charles Osgood as host of CBS Sunday Morning, the network revealed Sunday, at the end of Osgood's final broadcast of the venerable ( and top- rated) Sunday news program.

Pauley, 65, will become only the third host in the show's history, following Osgood, 83, who's retiring after 22 years on the show ( and 45 at CBS News) and will take over on Oct. 9. She is best known to NBC viewers as the host of Today from 1976 to 1989, alongside Tom Brokaw and Bryant Gumbel; an 11- year run as the original host of Dateline NBC, starting in 1992; and host of a short- lived daytime talk show in 2004. — Gary Levin JEREMY CORBYN RE- ELECTED TO LEAD UK’S LABOUR PARTY

Britain’s Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who was challenged over his handling of the Brexit campaign to leave the European Union, handily won re- election Saturday as head of the divided opposition party.

The 67- year- old far- left renegade, who was elected leader in September 2015, beat back a chal- lenge from the little- known Owen Smith, winning almost 62% of more than 500,000 votes cast by Labour members and supporters. Corbyn said he would work to unite the party.

The royal Cambridges arrived to a royal welcome in western Canada Saturday afternoon, coming down a jet stairway with Princess Charlotte in Duchess Kate's arms and Prince George, dressed in shades of blue, holding his mother's and Prince William's hands.

All but 1- year- old Charlotte were dressed in blue. She donned a Jenny Packham dress and appeared to be wearing the diamond- studded Queen's Maple Leaf Brooch, a customary gesture to the host country.

Charlotte wore a white dress covered in a pale blue pattern, blue shoes and a blue barrette in her hair. George, 3, had on navy shorts and knee socks topped with a sky- blue sweater.

George appeared a little nervous at times while Charlotte appeared to be unfazed, despite a 10- hour flight from the U. K.
