REPORTS: SUSPECT CAUGHT IN ISTANBUL NIGHTCLUB ATTACK

A suspect has been caught in the New Year’s Eve nightclub attack in Istanbul that left 39 people dead, the AA. com news website, al Jazeera and CNN Turkey reported.

The attack on the club jammed with holiday revelers also left 69 people with injuries.

The suspect was identified as Abdulkadir Masharipov, an Uzbek national, Hurryiet newspaper, the BBC and other news media reported.

Masharipov was captured during a police operation on a terrorist cell at a home in Istanbul’s Esenyurt district, Anadolu Agency and other media reported.

Operations against other cells were underway, Anadolu Agency reported.
