CARL’S JR. CEO, TRUMP’S PICK FOR LABOR, QUITS The parent company of the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s chains named a new CEO to replace Andy Puzder, who last month withdrew his nomination to be Labor Secretary under President Trump. CKE Restaurants Holdings says Puzder will be replaced in April by Jason Marker, who most recently was president of Yum Brands’ Kentucky Fried Chicken in the United States. In a phone interview Tuesday, Puzder said the nomination process was not a factor in his stepping down as CEO of CKE and that he told the company he wanted to retire when his four- year contract was up at the end of this year. GOOGLE MAPS CAN TELL FRIENDS WHERE YOU ARE Google Maps is pushing the bounds of online sharing, handing people a convenient way to broadcast their movements to friends and family via the mobile app. When sharing your location with people, they can see you on their map. The location- sharing feature will debut Wednesday in an update to the Google Maps app and on personal computers. ‘ POTTER’ FANS CAN NOW GET BUTTERBEER ICE CREAM Yuengling’s ice cream recently released a butterbeer- flavored treat that’s sure to be a hit with “Harry Potter” fans. WIKILEAKS CLAIMS CIA COULD BUG RESET IPHONES WikiLeaks said Thursday morning it will release new documents it claims are from the Central Intelligence Agency which show the CIA had the capability to bug iPhones even if their operating systems have been deleted and replaced. A “factory reset” involves deleting a phone’s operating system and any tainted or problematic programs that might have been loaded onto it and replacing it with a fresh version that contains no external computer code. WikiLeaks claims the CIA had a program that could stay resident on an iPhone despite having the entire operating system scrubbed.
