COURT: GM MUST FACE IGNITION- SWITCH CASES
The U. S. Supreme Court on Monday let stand a lower court ruling that General Motors no longer can avoid lawsuits from potential victims of ignition-switch defects that came before its 2009 bankruptcy. The decision may expose the new GM to new liabilities for a defect that killed at least 124 people and injured 275 in small cars made by the old GM, such as the Chevrolet Cobalt and Saturn Ion.
