ANDREW GARFIELD
SPIDEY MOVIES The Amazing Spider- Man ( 2012) and The Amazing Spider- Man 2 ( 2014) FRIENDS Life imitates art with Emma Stone/ Gwen Stacy being Andrew Garfield/ Peter Parker’s love interest. The two get together, break up and get back together before she dies in the film. ( In real life, both actors are alive and well but have since split up.) MOST DASTARDLY FOE Garfield’s Amazing sequel is heavy on baddies. But one weirdo stands out: Jamie Foxx’s Electro. The character begins as Max Dillon, a lonely working- class guy obsessed with SpiderMan. He falls into a tank of eels, gets the power to shoot electricity from his blue- skinned hands, and decides to use that to fight his former hero. DORKY MOMENT
Uncle Ben embarrasses Peter by saying, with Gwen in earshot, “She’s the girl on your computer.” Peter does a horrible job of covering up the fact that he does have a photo of Gwen on his desktop.
Oh, and there was that time he wrote “I LOVE YOU” in webs on the Brooklyn Bridge for Gwen. HEROIC SCENE
Spider- Man does a slow- motion aerial over a bus to stop it from tipping over and makes it back to commencement in time to collect his diploma and smooch his girl Gwen, the class valedictorian, onstage. YOU’LL REMEMBER HIM BECAUSE The romantic moments with Garfield and Stone are the most heartwrenching of any couple’s in recent superhero memory. When they get together and Peter uses his web shooter to pull her close, there are fireworks. When they split up in the rain, tears are warranted. When Gwen dies and Peter holds her in agony, viewers will need a whole pack of tissues.
