YOUR SAY: PENCE, DON’T BOTHER WITH RIPPON

Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon’s agent said he was told Vice President Pence wanted to meet personally after USA TODAY reported that Rippon, who is openly gay, was critical of Pence.

There is no excuse for Rippon being so rude. He isn’t being righteous or brave. He has an opportunity to meet with someone he disagrees with and discuss solutions, yet he chooses to act like a whiny brat. Benita Bramer

Rippon’s the only athlete who doesn’t deserve a medal. Athletes are supposed to be good role models.

Rippon doesn’t owe anyone anything. He isn’t anyone’s proxy to promote any specific social agenda. We shouldn’t be compromising or cooperating with those who promote discrimination. We need to shut them down without hesitation. Jeff Frohwein
