- Ashley May

Construction, tech and health care roles dominate a new best-jobs report.

The 2018 report released by job site Indeed ranked occupations by salary (jobs on the list must earn at least $75,000) and abundance of opportunity (jobs that have seen high growth on Indeed since 2014).

With 277% growth in the number of postings from 2014 and 2017, commercial project manager claimed the top spot. The job boasts an average base salary of $81,023, according to Indeed.

Three construction jobs made the list for the first time: preconstruction manager (No. 5, base salary of $95,337), construction estimator (No. 12) and construction manager (No. 19). Jed Kolko, Indeed chief economist, said the construction sector, along with mining, saw the fastest job growth year over year as of this past December. While many companies prefer a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, some desired positions only require a high school diploma, according to Indeed.

Machine learning engineer, with a $136,241 base salary, gained popularity this year, rising to the No. 4 spot from No. 17 last year.

Optometrist, which has a base salary of $131,692 and is ranked as the highest health care-related role, saw 118% growth in job postings from 2014 to 2017. Here are the top 10:
