USA TODAY International Edition
Enough with the ‘fake,’ biased news
As part of the Trusting News Project, we asked our readers how USA TODAY can improve:
It’s quite simple, report the “actual” news and tell the truth. Everything else is embellishment and fake news.

I believe readers desire the facts to be presented to them in a fair and unbiased manner. That includes politically balanced articles, fair content and tone, headlines that don’t mislead, equitable article placement, and clear printing of corrections. The decline of printed news subscriptions is known to everyone. It seems newspaper companies, like Gannett, would want to appeal to the broadest audience. That means USA TODAY will need to report from a true political center, and give conservatives a fair space, no matter the staff’s opinions. Chuck Salo

Keep up the good work. It’s truly impressive that USA TODAY is listening to us who hunger for more accurate and complete information that’s not biased. Cathi Morrison Casa Grande, Ariz.
Pretending to be impartial and claiming the moral high ground that their politics don’t enter into their reporting is folly. These people are human.

I subscribe to the USA TODAY online and read it extensively, daily. It is, by far, the best source of news anywhere. I especially appreciate the editorials and the inclusion of an opposing view by a person who articulates that view very well (although I agree with the editorial about 95% of the time). Glenn Verbrugge Cadillac, Mich.
We need the honesty back in news, and respect for individuals and ideas. If an opinion is going to be expressed, it should be in the form of an editorial. Carol Muehlenkamp
