Human error still a part of self-driving cars
Autonomous vehicles offer numerous advantages, including the potential to reduce accident rates due to human error. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are at the fulcrum of such advances. However, like all sophisticated technologies, there are well-defined parameters under which such technologies can be effective. This shifts the human error component from behind the wheel to the implementation and application of the technology. Therefore, human error will continue to impact vehicle safety, manifesting itself along a different threat vector. When such an event occurs, it is human compliance that is at fault. Sheldon H.
