As far as manager Robin Ven

tura and his teammates are concerned, all is forgiven with left-hander Chris Sale.

Sale returned July 28 after serving a five-game suspension imposed by the team for insubordination and pitched well despite taking the loss to the crosstown-rival Chicago Cubs. He allowed two runs in six innings as his record fell to 14-4.

Several teammates hugged Sale when he arrived in the clubhouse before the game.

Before his scheduled start July 23 against the Tigers, Sale destroyed a number of 1976 V-neck collared jerseys that were part of a throwback promotion because he found them uncomfortable. General manager Rick Hahn suspended Sale and sent him home.

Sale told MLB.com while serving his suspension that he thought manager Robin Ventu

ra should have stood up for his players. However, Ventura shrugged off the comments and said he had no problem with his ace pitcher. Utility infielder Tyler Saladino is getting a chance to play second base semi-regularly while Brett Lawrie is on the disabled list because of a strained left hamstring. The White Sox are optimistic Lawrie could be activated Saturday. Left- hander Carlos Rodon lost in his return from the DL on Sunday, giving up five runs in 61⁄ 3 innings against the Twins after being out since July 6 because of a sprained left wrist.
