Atlanta Falcons

- by Brian Allee-Walsh

OLB Vic Beasley Jr. (sprained shoulder) was held out of the Falcons’ 24-13 victory against the Cleveland Browns as a precaution, but coach Dan Quinn did not rule out the 2015 eighth overall pick playing Thursday.

Beasley, who tore a labrum in the same shoulder last season, led the Falcons in sacks with four in 2015. Atlanta’s 41 sacks the past two seasons represent the fewest in the NFL.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 offensive unit and QB Matt Ryan rebounded from a pedestrian effort in the opener by having a productive outing against the Browns.

Ryan played three series, directing one touchdown drive while completing six of 11 passes for 78 yards. He had gone threeand-out in both series last week against the Washington Redskins.
