The Seahawks are looking to undrafted rookie QB

Boykin to prove Russellhim­self Trevonea Wilson.capable No. 2 behind The TCU product has shown he’s a magnet for dramatic finishes.

After engineerin­g a fourthquar­ter comeback in the opener, Boykin nearly did it again.

Boykin led a fourth-quarter touchdown drive that resulted in an 11-11 tie, then he gave it back by throwing an intercepti­on the Minnesota Vikings returned for the go-ahead score with 1:23 remaining. He drove the Seahawks right back down the field before his short pass into the end zone fell incomplete on the final play.

Boykin is 26-for-46 for 315 yards in the two games.

Rookie watch: RB C.J. Prosise finally got on the practice field last week, but the rookie from Notre Dame has yet to play in a preseason game. He had better get into the action quickly, as undrafted rookie Troymaine Pope

is making a serious push for the role of third-down back. … DT

Jarran Reed, a second-round pick and projected starter, was a force in the Minnesota game before being helped off the field late in the third quarter. Reed was able to return.

Noteworthy: TE Jimmy Graham and RB Thomas Rawls returned to practice, but there’s no guarantee Graham will be ready for the opener. Rawls’ role is unclear because of the emergence of Christine Michael. … DT Tony McDaniel, who was a key part of Seattle’s back-to-back Super Bowl appearance­s but spent last season with the Tampa Bay Bucs, was signed last week. McDaniel, 31, had been an unsigned free agent and could bring a veteran presence to the young interior of Seattle’s defensive line. … The Seahawks’ rebuilt offensive line will have some teaching points after the Vikings unleashed a blitz package that resulted in Wilson being sacked four times. … S Kam Chancellor has yet to play in the preseason because he is nursing a sore groin muscle.
