About the Jets: QB who had a 1-8 record against Rex Ryancoached defenses, overcame his “Rex Hex,” throwing for 374 yards and a touchdown in a 37-31 victory against his former team, the Buffalo Bills. Fitzpatrick continued targeting his two favorite wide receivers —

(101 yards) and (126), but he also has begun connecting with No. 3 WR (92). The 2015 sixthround draft pick leads the Jets with 13 receptions for 146 yards and one score. “If he can continue to make the plays and continue to take advantage of one-on-one opportunities — because he’s going to get them — it’s going to make all of our jobs easier,” Marshall said. The Jets also have been boosted by workhorse RB who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns in 30 carries against the Bills.

About the Chiefs: A week after a stirring comeback overtime victory, the Chiefs suffered an error-filled 19-12 loss to a Houston Texans team they had clobbered 30-0 in a wild-card game last season. Kansas City lost three fumbles and committed nine penalties, including a holding call that negated a touchdown on a kickoff return. They also dropped several passes. QB was sacked four times and was limited to 186 passing yards. K provided all of the Chiefs’ scoring with four field goals, including a 53-yarder that matched his career long. Without injured LB Kansas City was unable to mount much of a pass rush, putting additional pressure on the secondary, Quincy Enunwa leads the Jets with 13 catches and has 146 receiving yards.

which allowed WRs DeAndre Hopkins and rookie Will Fuller to combine for 217 yards.

Peters is coming off a game in which he made two interceptions and broke up four passes but also was burned for a 27-yard touchdown reception and received a taunting penalty. He probably will be matched against Marshall, who torched the Bills’ respected cover corners.

WHO WILL WIN AND WHY

The former Chicago Bears star, with 52 carries, is on pace for 416 carries, which would tie the NFL record set by former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson in 2006. It’s unlikely Forte, 30, would be able to withstand that kind of workload, but coach

said he plans to keep feeding him the ball.

Fitzpatrick’s completion percentage to his wide receivers in the Bills game, the highest by a Jets quarterback in 10 seasons.

KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Visit Revis Island: Jets lockdown CB Darrelle Revis has been burned a few times, including an 84-yard bomb to Bills WR Marquise Goodwin. Revis also yielded a 54-yard touchdown reception by Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green in the opener. Revis is still good, but Bowles no longer is automatically matching Revis against the opposition’s best receiver. Smith might take a few shots down field to WR Jeremy Maclin.

2. Backfield in motion: The Chiefs have versatile options in starting RB

(127 yards rushing, 177 yards receiving) and Their depth could improve this week because veteran RB

might be activated after missing the first two games while recuperating from a knee injury.

3. Start faster: The Chiefs were able to recover from their slow start in Week 1, thanks to a furious comeback, but couldn’t come back Sunday against Houston’s dominating defense.
