Justin Upton, Tigers

For most of the season, Upton looked like a major bust after signing a six-year, $132.75 million free agent contract in the offseason. The 29-year-old left fielder struggled to adjust to a new league after spending the first nine years of his career in the National League. He was hitting .228 with 13 home runs, 46 RBI and a .657 on-base-plus-slugging percentage (OPS) in 116 games before getting hot over his next 25 games, hitting .276 with 12 homers, 30 RBI and a 1.094 OPS. That raised his overall numbers to .236 with 25 homers, 76 RBI and a .730 OPS through 141 games. Upton has hit at least 20 homers in six seasons.
