NFL WEEK 5
A rundown of the Week 5 schedule with the page number for each game preview (times p.m. Eastern unless noted):
“We were hungry,” receiver Antonio Brown told reporters. “Last week we got blown out on the road. And anytime you get blown out, you want to respond. This was a great response.”
Roethlisberger threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter and gave the Steelers a 22-0 lead, setting a team record for points in that span.
By halftime, Roethlisberger had thrown more touchdowns (four) than incompletions (three). By game’s end, the two were equal.
Roethlisberger finished with 22 completions on 27 passes for 300 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions.
The game marked the return of all-pro running back Le’Veon Bell, back from a three-game suspension.
But it was the Roethlisberger Show that propelled the Steelers to a share of first place in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens.
“I told the guys before the game: ‘We are driving a car, and we don’t have a rearview mirror,’ ” Roethlisberger told reporters after the game. “We aren’t looking back. We are looking forward, and I think we did that tonight. Last week was one of those days.”
