Carr sets record; Ingram gets benched

-

These players saw their fantasy football values increase or decrease the most based on their performances in Week 8:

SIZZLERS

QB Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders: What a day for Carr — 40 completions for a franchise-record 513 yards and four touchdowns in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that needed overtime to decide the winner.

QB Josh McCown, Cleveland Browns: The Browns could not be happier to get McCown back. In his first game since he broke his collarbone in Week 2, he threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns. But his two interceptions might have ultimately cost them the game.

WR J.J. Nelson, Arizona Cardinals: When nothing else is working, why not try the new guy? Nelson responded with eight catches for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

QB Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys: Prescott gets an honorable mention this week as the Philadelphia Eagles defense is a tough one to crack. Prescott led his team to victory with his legs and his arm, throwing for two touchdowns and rushing for another.

K Wil Lutz, New Orleans Saints: Since kickers never get any love, Lutz was 4-for-4 on field goals (including one from 41 yards and another from 53), converting one with less than two minutes left to seal a win against the Seat- tle Seahawks.

FIZZLERS

WR Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons: The expectations for Jones are always sky high, and for good reason. But in a 33-32 thriller of a victory against the Green Bay Packers, Jones managed a paltry three receptions for 29 yards.

WR T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts: Hilton was targeted six times but was only able to haul in one for a 20-yard gain. We have come to expect more out of Andrew Luck’s primary target.

RB Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints: He scored minus one point in some leagues because of his early fumble that was returned for a touchdown by the Seahawks. Ingram was benched for backup Tim Hightower, who rumbled for 102 yards on 26 carries.

RB Spencer Ware, Kansas City Chiefs: He has been nothing short of terrific replacing Jamaal Charles this season. But Ware had to leave last weekend’s game early with a concussion and is considered very questionable to play in Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

WR Michael Floyd, Arizona Cardinals: Floyd was banged up coming into last weekend’s game against the Carolina Panthers, but he did start. He wasn’t targeted even once in what has turned into another long season for fantasy owners who invested in Floyd.
