PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
Johnny Cueto, Giants
He’s unpredictable not only on the mound but also when answering reporters’ questions. Creating headlines, Cueto said April 15 that he would like to finish his career in the American League. “It’s just a personal preference because I played so much in the National League,” he said. Cueto, 31, can opt out of his Giants contract after this season, but his comments were general. “I sometimes feel the American League is stronger than the National League,” said Cueto, who pitched in the AL for a halfseason with the Kansas City Royals in 2015 and went 4-7 with a 4.76 ERA.
