After the right fielder threw out the Astros’ George Springer at the plate by about 15 feet to end the sixth inning June 16, Betts’ eighth-inning solo homer was the difference in Boston’s win at Houston. It was his seventh homer this season to give Boston a lead. That concluded a six-game stretch in which Betts went 12-for-27 (.444) with three homers, five RBI, seven runs and two steals.
