Ross has finally pitched for the Rangers, and his availability is a big factor for Texas if it wants to make a playoff run. Sidelined by offseason shoulder surgery, Ross made his Rangers debut June 16 and showed why Texas signed him as a free agent. Making his first start in almost 15 months, the righthander went 52⁄ innings and allowed two runs on two hits against the Mariners for his first win since 3 Aug. 31, 2015. “It’s been a long time coming,” Ross said.
