Baltimore Ravens

- Preseason notes by Zac Jackson

The Ravens’ search for healthy bodies and experienced offensive linemen led the team to a familiar name last week when C Jeremy Zuttah signed a two-year deal. The Ravens traded Zuttah to the San Francisco 49ers in the spring, but he was released this month. Zuttah started all 16 games and went to the Pro Bowl last season with the Ravens.

Since June, the Ravens have lost nine expected starters or consistent contributors to seasonending injuries, retirement or suspension. C John Urschel retired and two other interior linemen, Nico Siragusa and Alex

Lewis, suffered season-ending injuries this month.

Though Zuttah also can play guard, the Ravens see him as a center. Ryan Jensen has been starting at center in the preseason but now figures to compete at guard, and only two weeks after signing with the team Austin

Howard is the likely starting right tackle. The Ravens have limited Pro Bowl G Marshal Yanda’s snaps in camp to keep him healthy.

Rookie watch: Undrafted RB Taquan Mizzell keeps showing off his speed and shiftiness, and Mizzell hopes he’s playing his way into the team’s plans. Veteran RB Danny Woodhead is limited in the preseason and Kenneth

Dixon is likely out for the season because of a knee injury.

Noteworthy: WR Jeremy Maclin made his preseason debut last week, catching one pass on one target for 5 yards. ... WR

Breshad Perriman (hamstring) has mostly been a spectator in camp and QB Joe Flacco still is not practicing because of a back injury. The team has said Flacco will be back for the start of the regular season.
