The Steelers made a roster move and a lineup change as they continue to try to upgrade and stabilize the cornerback position. They acquired CB Dashaun Phillips in a trade with the Washington Redskins, and in last weekend’s preseason game Coty Sensabaugh outplayed Ross Cockrell to become a starter. But much is unsettled behind No. 1 CB Artie Burns. Rookie Cameron Sutton and first-year player Mike Hilton are trying to pass

Cockrell and Senquez Golson, who is injured for the third consecutive summer.

Sutton, a third-rounder who has dealt with a hamstring injury, made his preseason debut Aug. 26. The Steelers like his aggressiveness vs. the run.

Hilton could end up winning the nickel cornerback job, with veteran William Gay either serving as a backup or possibly not making the team.

Rookie watch: Secondround WR Juju Smith-Schus

ter (knee) limped off the field after making a catch in last weekend’s preseason game vs. the Indianapolis Colts, marking the fourth time he has been injured since the start of camp. The Steelers have a crowded receiver room and face difficult decisions on

Sammie Coates and Eli Rogers, but if Smith-Schuster isn’t ready to contribute the team is likely to keep more-experienced players.

Noteworthy: RB Le’Veon Bell confirmed he would sign his franchise tender and report to the team in the days after the Aug. 31 preseason finale. ... QB Ben

Roethlisberger and WR Antonio Brown saw their only preseason action last weekend.
