Washington Redskins

Last week was comeback week for TE Jordan Reed and LBs Junior Galette and Ryan Anderson.

All had missed significant time with injuries, but they returned to the practice field, and two got into game action against the Cincinnati Bengals on Aug. 27.

Galette had been out for the longest. The former New Orleans Saints star last appeared in a regular-season game Dec. 28, 2014, missing the last two seasons with Achilles tendon injuries. He was in on two tackles against the Bengals.

Reed, who opened camp on the physically unable to perform list, said he no longer has pain in his toe. He caught two passes for 12 yards in his first preseason action.

Anderson, who suffered a shoulder stinger in the preseason opener, has been limited in practice and did not play on the 27th.

Rookie watch: Veteran C Spencer Long had arthroscopic surgery last week to repair cartilage damage in his knee, so the Redskins are grooming sixth-rounder Chase Roullier for the starting role. He would be the only new face on an offensive line that has returned intact.

Noteworthy: To shore up the center position, Washington acquired undrafted rookie Lucas

Crowley from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for CB Dashaun Phillips. … S DeAngelo Hall said he expected to start the season on the physically unable to play list, which would keep him out until at least Week 7.
