Fantasy value meter: Ranking the top fantasy picks.
These players have seen their fantasy values increase or decrease based on their performances this preseason: SIZZLERS FIZZLERS
RB Kareem Hunt, Kansas City Chiefs: A season-ending injury to starter Spencer Ware has given the rookie an opportunity to be an every-down workhorse. Coach Andy Reid has a history of turning his main back into a fantasy star.
RB Carlos Hyde, San Francisco 49ers: His competition thinned out by the end of the preseason, with Joe Williams going on injured reserve and Tim Hightower released. As long as he stays healthy, Hyde could thrive in the new-look Niners offense.
WR Chris Hogan, New England Patriots: The big-play threat from last season took a back seat to newcomer Brandin Cooks early in camp. But Julian Edelman’s knee injury has Hogan back as one of QB Tom Brady’s primary options.
QB Jay Cutler, Miami Dolphins: The veteran gunslinger goes from the broadcast booth to the starting lineup. His strong arm could lead to more big plays from Miami’s receiving corps.
RB Darren McFadden, Dallas Cowboys: The uncertainty over Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension has made McFadden an important insurance policy for Elliott owners and a short-term fantasy starter behind the Cowboys’ powerful offensive line. WR T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts: Fantasy owners were willing to overlook his paltry TD totals, but his value takes the biggest hit if QB Andrew Luck isn’t 100% healthy.
RB LeGarrette Blount, Philadelphia Eagles: He was never going to approach last year’s 18 rushing TDs, but a sluggish performance in camp makes a committee backfield much more likely in Philly.
WR Allen Hurns, Jacksonville Jaguars: In a passing game that has struggled to get anything going in the preseason, Hurns will be lucky to see more than a handful of passes his way each game. And who knows if they’ll be on target.
RB Eddie Lacy, Seattle Seahawks: Despite missing the final 11 games of last season with an ankle injury, Lacy has been the healthiest running back in camp. He still figures to split time with Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise and rookie Chris Carson.
QB Tyrod Taylor, Buffalo Bills: Still recovering from the effects of a concussion, Taylor will miss the big-play ability of recently traded wideout Sammy Watkins.
