DIAMONDBACKS AT DODGERS (April 13-15)

Arizona swept Los Angeles last week, outscoring the visitors 17-8 over three games. The Dodgers batted .203 and compiled a .275 on-base percentage. A.J. Pollock had three doubles, Paul Goldschmidt had five walks and lefty hitter David Peralta homered off Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, against whom he’d been 0-for-8. Don’t call it a fluke. Arizona had the best record, 11-8, of any Dodgers opponent last year.

YANKEES AT MARLINS (April 16-17)

It will be a showdown of each team’s legend: The first time the Yankees face the Marlins with Derek Jeter as the Miami owner and the first time Giancarlo Stanton faces his former team after hitting a major league-best 59 homers on his way to the National League MVP with the Marlins last season. It also will be the first time the Yankees have faced the Marlins since 2015, when they went 2-2, losing both games in Miami.

NATIONALS AT METS (April 16-18)

Is this the year the Mets take back the NL East? If it is, they might want to start by taking Citi Field back from their division rivals. The Nationals went 8-2 in Queens last year, hitting 17 home runs. But if you go further back, they’ve gone 33-12 against the Mets in New York since the middle of the 2013 season. Max Scherzer has won four starts in a row at Citi Field with a 1.55 ERA. The Nationals have won each of the last seven games Stephen Strasburg has started at Citi.

CARDINALS AT CUBS (April 16-18)

The NL Central rivals’ initial meeting of the season comes in a three-game series at Wrigley Field. The Cubs won 14 of 19 games against the Cardinals last year, including eight of nine at Wrigley, en route to their second consecutive division title. Right fielder Jason Heyward batted .302 vs. St. Louis with five doubles and 10 RBI, catcher Willson Contreras hit five home runs and left fielder Kyle Schwarber and center fielder Ian Happ went deep four times each. Cardinals right-hander Michael Wacha was 0-3 with a 7.77 ERA in four starts.

ASTROS AT MARINERS (April 16-19)

The M’s get their first peek this year at the defending World Series champions in a four- game set. Seattle lost 14 of 19 games against the Astros last year, its worst showing against an AL West foe. The M’s hope to have Nelson Cruz (ankle) back.

INDIANS VS. TWINS (April 17-18)

The teams meet in a twogame series at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Among the players returning to their native island will be Indians catcher Roberto Perez and shortstop Francisco Lindor and Twins right-hander Jose Berrios and left fielder Eddie Rosario. Minnesota will be the home team in both games in the first meeting of the season between the teams. Cleveland won the season series 12-7 last year — designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion had six home runs, 18 RBI and 19 walks — and is 53-42 against the Twins since 2013.
