Texans’ keys to victory: Houston needs to protect the football. While the defense did not produce a takeaway last weekend against the Titans, the threat was there. However, the Texans fell behind in turnover differential because QB Deshaun Watson heaved a deep ball for WR DeAndre Hopkins into double coverage, the same error he made in Week 1. Watson has the ability to make big plays, but he needs to excise the giveaways to give the Texans a chance to win their first home game since Nov. 19 against Arizona. DE J.J. Watt and the pass rush need to get home.
Matchup to watch: Texans DE J.J. Watt vs. Giants LT Ereck Flowers. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is healthy and will give the struggling protector even more problems.
Who wins? Back-to-back road trips are daunting. The Texans just finished a two-gamer, and the Giants are on the back end of a tour through the Lone Star State. Houston gets it together in front of the NRG Stadium faithful.
