Cowboys’ keys to victory: One of the biggest things that Dallas has going for it, even with QB Dak Prescott out, is it can put points on the board better than almost any other team. Coupled with a Washington defense that has been porous at times, it could be a giant mismatch. If QB Andy Dalton is able to use his offensive weapons on the outside, as well as get the ball to RB Ezekiel Elliott often, it will be tough for Washington’s offense to keep up.

Washington’s keys to victory: It will be all on the defense, which will have to keep this game close enough to allow QB Kyle Allen to make a few plays while not getting outside his comfort zone. The Dallas defense is among the worst in the NFL. The Burgundy and Gold have to get the ball to WR Terry McLaurin and RB Antonio Gibson and let them go to work.

Matchup to watch: Cowboys WR Amari Cooper vs. Washington CB Kendall Fuller. Free agency could have changed a lot for these two, with one passing on Washington while the other signed. Dallas has been able to ride some big performances from Cooper, giving it a way to take the top off opposing defenses. Fuller has stepped up in a big way, and he may be forced to shadow Cooper to keep the top-end receiver quiet.

Who wins? While Dallas’ backup quarterback and terrible defense make picking Washington enticing, there is little chance the Cowboys’ offense can be held in check long enough to let the home team keep this one close. Dallas will put too many points on the board.

Cowboys, 39-27
