Bills’ keys to victory: The Bills need to do the opposite of what they did during last year’s AFC title game when it comes to defending Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce. They gave both players a ton of cushion because they didn’t want to get beat over the top. The Bills should look to follow the recent blueprint to beating the Chiefs: play Cover 2 and Cover 1 man and press on third down. They have the cornerback and safety talent to do it with Tre’Davious White, Micah Hyde and Levi Wallace. They should also consider sending delayed blitzes to frustrate Patrick Mahomes.

Chiefs’ keys to victory: The Chiefs need to find a way to contain the Bills’ rushing attack, headlined by RBs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss and QB Josh Allen. Buffalo had the fifth-most rushing yards in the NFL with 581 yards on the ground. The Chiefs have allowed 584 on the ground, third most in the NFL. Stopping the run could be the difference between containing the Bills offense or another close game for Kansas City.

Matchup to watch: Bills CB Levi Wallace vs. Chiefs WR Josh Gordon. Gordon is expected to make his Chiefs debut on Sunday after having not played an NFL game since December 2019. How will his presence impact the Chiefs offense? We know what he’s capable of when he’s at his best, though it has been eight seasons since his 1,646-yard season.

Who wins? The Bills remain a threat to the Chiefs in the AFC, but they might not be able to put it all together until the playoffs.

Chiefs, 42-38
