Titans leaning on Brown even more
These players saw their fantasy values increase or decrease most based on their performances in Week 8:
Sizzlers
WR A.J. Brown, Tennessee Titans: Returning from hamstring and knee injuries, Brown has improved his fantasy output each of the past three weeks, erupting for 10 catches and 155 yards vs. the Colts. With Derrick Henry out, he should be the focal point of the offense going forward.
WR Michael Pittman, Indianapolis Colts: Pittman was targeted relentlessly against Tennessee, seeing a season-high 15 targets. He responded by catching 10 for 86 yards and two TDs.
QB Justin Fields, Chicago Bears: Fields raised his stock against San Francisco. His passing totals are still low but anytime a quarterback rushes for over 100 yards, fantasy managers are happy.
QB Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers: With Trey Lance waiting in the wings, Garoppolo threw for 322 yards and ran for a pair of touchdowns vs. Chicago. Perhaps most important, he didn’t throw an interception for the first time in four games.
QB Mike White, N.Y. Jets: It’s hard to say what’s more impressive about White’s first NFL start: His 405 yards through the air or his astonishing 37-for-45 passing against a solid Bengals defense.
Fizzlers
WR Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings: The Dallas secondary is so porous, yet Jefferson caught just two passes on four targets. The Vikings have shown little imagination on offense and their upcoming schedule is nightmarish.
WR Mike Williams, LA Chargers: Sure, Williams has had some big games. But very quietly, in three of his last four games played he has a total of just five receptions.
WR Emmanuel Sanders, Buffalo Bills: Sanders has been a steady fantasy producer on a prolific offense. Unfortunately, this week, against the struggling Dolphins, he was held without a catch on four targets.
WR DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles: The entire Philadelphia receiving group has struggled, but Smith just isn’t seeing the usage to make him fantasy relevant. He continues to have too many single-digit games, like Sunday’s one catch for 15 yards vs. the lowly Lions.
TE Noah Fant, Denver Broncos: Fant’s usage has been spotty all season. When he scores, it leads to some decent fantasy days. It’s just nearly impossible to predict his touchdowns, which makes him a challenging weekly start.
