Bills keys to victory: They have one of the NFL’s best offenses behind QB Josh Allen. The Jets defense – well, it’s been embarrassing. New York has allowed 130 points and 1,401 yards over its last three games. Overall, the Jets are allowing over 31 points and 408 yards per game. Gang Green has struggled against the run and the pass, giving the Bills their choice of ways to attack. Considering Buffalo also has an elite defense, it’s hard to see the Jets pulling out a win no matter who is quarterback.
Jets keys to victory: They have a shot if their defense suddenly whips into shape. Mike LaFleur’s offense has thrived over the last two weeks with Josh Johnson and Mike White at quarterback, though that could change if Zach Wilson returns from injury. But head coach Robert Saleh and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s unit is not living up to expectations despite entering the season with higher expectations. If the Jets play a complete game on both sides, perhaps they could upset Buffalo.
Matchup to watch: Bills’ Allen vs. Jets defensive line. The mobile Allen hasn’t been brought down much this season, as he’s been sacked only 12 times. New York’s defensive line has severely underachieved and is coming off a one-sack game against the Colts, and that came in garbage time.
Who wins? It won’t be particularly close. Buffalo has too much talent, and the Jets haven’t played many games in which they’ve received best efforts in all three phases.
Bills 35, Jets 14
