Tipico Sportsbook line:

Lions’ keys to victory: Detroit remains the worst team in the NFL, and there isn’t one reason why. The team ranks near the bottom in most offensive and defensive categories. There is talent on the team, including QB Jared Goff and RB D’Andre Swift, but the Lions receivers will need to step up against the Steelers to take the heat off of Swift and keep Goff upright. Defensively, the Lions have to slow down rookie RB Najee Harris, who has become a major threat as both a rusher and receiver.

Steelers’ keys to victory: This is not the week for the Steelers to get complacent. The Lions have players on offense who can make big plays such as Swift and TE T.J. Hockenson. The Steelers struggle to slow down backs and tight ends, so these should be points of emphasis for Pittsburgh. Offensively, the Steelers have to continue to take shots downfield to WR Diontae Johnson to keep the Lions defense out of the box to stuff Harris in the run game.

Matchup to watch: Steelers’ Harris vs Lions’ Swift. Harris and Swift represent two of the best young running backs in the league. They are different styles of backs with different body types, but both players have the skills to take over games and carry the offense.

Who wins? The Lions are coming off the bye week and should have plenty of time to prepare to slow down the Steelers offense and find a way to move the football on a stout Pittsburgh defense. But in Pittsburgh the Steelers are just too tough to beat and the Lions are still searching for answers as to why things aren’t working.

Steelers 21, Lions 10
