Chiefs’ keys to victory: In their last two meetings against Las Vegas, Kansas City has allowed 71 points. For whatever reason, Raiders QB Derek Carr has had some of his biggest games against the Chiefs. Look for them to try to force Carr outside the pocket and limit his number of shots down the field. On offense, the Chiefs should be able to pick apart the Vegas linebackers and safeties. As long as K.C. doesn’t turn the ball over, which has been a problem, this is a game in which QB Patrick Mahomes and the offense should have a big day.

Raiders’ keys to victory: The biggest reason for the improvement on defense has been due to their stud ends. Maxx Crosby and Yannick Ngakoue have been arguably the best duo of edge rushers in the NFL. If they can create pressure and make Mahomes feel uncomfortable, Las Vegas will have a chance. Look for the Raiders to use their rushing attack to help shorten the game and for RB Josh Jacobs to see close to 20 carries.

Matchup to watch: Chiefs’ Mahomes vs. Raiders SS Johnathan Abram. The game-winning touchdown in these teams’ second meeting of 2020 came on a play in which Mahomes targeted Abram in zone coverage and found TE Travis Kelce open in the end zone. Look for Mahomes to continue to find and target the former firstround pick.

Who wins? Kansas City’s offense is still struggling, but it has had a ton of success against the Raiders in the past. Expect this game to be close but for Kansas City to get the win.

Chiefs 31, Raiders 27
