RUTGERS RECEIVER CARROO CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
A star Rutgers wide receiver has been charged with assault in another arrest and suspension of a football player at the school. The team announced that Leonte
Carroo was suspended even before officials said Monday that he had been arrested. The senior was charged with assault under domestic violence in connection with an unspecified matter Saturday after the team’s game. Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop said the arrest stemmed from something that happened outside Hale Center, the team’s training and administrative building. Cop did not release further details. The arrest and suspension are the latest stains on a football program in which six other players were kicked off the team this month after arrests. Coach Kyle
Flood is also being investigated for possible improper contact with a teacher about a player’s grade.
