TRUMP UNIVERSITY CASE Would a judge by any other name be as fair?

- LETTERS LETTERS@USATODAY.COM

We asked our followers whether their view of Trump has been influenced by his criticism of Curiel’s ability to be fair to him because of the judge’s Mexican heritage. Why is it that only white people can be racist? It's quite possible that Trump is right. @dinoboltz This is assuming we had a positive view of him already. He's nothing more than a Kardashian with a platform and no tact. @JJGolding0 For more, follow @USATOpinion or #tellusatoday.

Donald Trump’s words are not misconstrued. He clearly said the judge could not be impartial because he was Mexican. He is a racist, a bully, an ego-maniac and really not nearly as smart as most of his supporters would like to believe. Don E. Thompson

We already know what’s in Trump’s heart and the hearts of his supporters. Trump attacked two prominent Mexican-Americans, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez and Judge Curiel. Trump is toast in November. Khalid Nurredin

There has been no judicial bias proven in the Trump University case. Many conservative, right-wing politicians have denounced Trump. When it seems that everyone is against Trump, maybe they have a point.

Trump had every right to question the judge’s ability to be impartial, in light of all of his “extracurricular activities” and affiliations. So many red flags. He should be removed from the bench if he is helping to send undocumented people to co llege on scholarships, over our most vulnerable legal citizens. Michelle Rigney

I think what it shows is how willing Trump will be to use the position of president to advance his own wealth. Bruce Mort
