AMERICA’S GOT TALENT
NBC, 8 ET/PT Summer’s highest-rated series airs its two-hour finale, promising special guests and big surprises. If patterns hold, the show will also over-promise on its ability to turn the winner into a superstar — a promise that, up to now, only American Idol has been able to fulfill. Still, Talent has been fairly good at finding the kind of acts that are able to leverage the exposure into careers in places like Branson, Mo., and Las Vegas, and that’s nothing to sneeze at.
