SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 7 CHARGING COULD BE CAPPED

-

Samsung is working on an update to its Galaxy Note 7 limiting how users can charge the device following a massive recall due to reports of the phones catching fire or exploding. The update would allow owners of a Note 7 to charge the battery to 60% instead of a full charge. Samsung spokeswoman Ashley Wimberly said the update’s adoption will vary by country. “Samsung is continuing to work with the (Consumer Product Safety Commission) and our carrier partners to develop and evaluate solutions that are best for U.S. Note 7 owners,” Wimberly said.
