SOUNDERS STAR DEMPSEY WILL MISS REST OF SEASON

Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey will miss the rest of the 2016 MLS season because of an irregular heartbeat that has sidelined him for more than a month. Seattle general manger Garth Lagerwey announced the decision Tuesday. Lagerwey said the main objective was to take away any pressure Dempsey, an All- Star, might feel about trying to return this year and give him time to address his condition.
