RAIDERS POST BIG FANTASY NUMBERS IN OT

- Steve Gardner

Overtime is a fantasy owner’s best friend.

Although they didn’t produce the highest point totals of Week 8, the two games that went into OT on Sunday provided a ton of fantasy scoring.

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr completed 40 of 59 passes for 513 yards and four touchdowns, including the 41-yard game-winner to Seth Roberts. Carr’s passing yardage and 35.82 fantasy points were single-game highs for a quarterback this season.

Raiders receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree had 15 and 16 targets, respectively. Cooper turned his into 12 catches for 173 yards and a TD — making him the day’s highest-scoring nonquarterback. Crabtree caught eight passes for 108 yards but didn’t find the end zone.

In London, the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals didn’t score in OT. But that allowed the offenses to combine for 961 yards in the 27-27 tie.

Washington’s Kirk Cousins threw for 458 yards and two TDs — with 107 yards and a score going to wideout Jamison Crowder.

Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton had only 284 yards through the air, but his only TD pass was significant. Getting his first extended playing time since offseason ankle surgery, tight end Tyler Eifert caught nine passes for 102 yards and a TD. Look for him to be a top-tier tight end going forward.

Major disappointments

Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had what looked like a perfect matchup against the struggling Detroit Lions secondary. Yet quarterback Brock Osweiler could connect with Hopkins only four times for 44 yards. Despite being a consensus top-five wideout on draft day, Hopkins has averaged 8.1 fantasy points a game — ranking him No. 32 at the position.

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram fumbled for the second consecutive week, and it got him benched. Ingram finished with three carries for 5 yards as backup Tim Hightower took over the bulk of the workload. Hightower ended up with 26 carries for 102 yards, but he was stuffed on several occasions in the red zone.
