Mahomes is bypassing his senior season for early entry in the NFL draft. Mahomes, the Football Bowl Subdivisio­n leader this season with 5,052 passing yards, announced his decision during an on-campus news conference. The 6-3, 230-pound quarterbac­k said draft evaluators gave him a second-round grade. uT. J. Watt is joining his brothers in the NFL. The Wisconsin linebacker announced he will forgo his final of season of eli- gibility and enter the NFL draft after registerin­g 111⁄ sacks as a 2 junior. Watt’s brother, J.J., is a defensive end with the Houston Texans and a three-time NFL defensive player of the year. His other brother, Derek, is a fullback for the San Diego Chargers. uWashingto­n announced that

wide receiver John Ross, safety Budda Baker, defensive tackle Elijah Qualls and cornerback Sidney Jones will forgo their senior seasons and enter the NFL draft. Each player is expected to be an early round selection. Baker was a second-team Associated Press All-American after leading the Huskies with 71 tackles and grabbing two intercepti­ons. Baker started all 41 games during his three years at Washington and projects as a nickel cornerback in the NFL. Jones started 39 of 41 games during his three seasons, and Qualls was a first-team allPac-12 selection this season. Ross boosted his NFL prospects by leading the team with 81 receptions for 1,150 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was voted the AP Pac-12 player of the year and was a second-team AP All-American.
