Warren should know Sessions is a man of integrity

LETTERS LETTERS@USATODAY.COM

It’s sad how the collegiality of the

Senate has been jettisoned during Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination to be attorney general. Sessions has been in the Senate for 20 years. Sen. Elizabeth Warren should know he’s a man of integrity. We Alabamians know this.

Coretta Scott King’s letter Warren read was about how Sessions as a U.S. attorney prosecuted alleged voter fraud in Perry County, Ala.

I lived and worked in Perry County. The county usually has a high number of absentee ballots. I’ve known of the abuse of this system when candidates took absentee ballots to both local nursing homes.

Many residents weren’t capable of making this kind of decision, but nursing home votes were significant in county elections.

It’s not racist to investigate and prosecute voter fraud. Michael J. Brooks Alabaster, Ala.

We asked our followers whether Sen. Elizabeth Warren should have been allowed to finish her speech during the debate over Sen. Jeff Sessions’ nomination for attorney general. Yes. The letter Warren was reading is indicative of who Sessions is and should be taken into consideration before voting on attorney general. @nauga54 No. Warren violated a rule of the Senate and was punished. Why are people trying to make her a martyr? @Fasteagle101 Yes. I thought the point is to vet nominees. Coretta Scott King’s letter as evidence of character is fair and ethical. #LetLizspeak @lividleftist No. The content is irrelevant other than the fact it “directly or indirectly” violated Rule 19 in an obvious fashion. @Space__Taxi Yes! Republicans are threatened by Warren. She is brilliant, speaks well, knows the facts and is honest. Love her! @diandsuesisters Warren is a divider and continues to be. People are tired of the constant whining, and in 2018 they will show it. @miner_mark
