CAR DRIVES INTO ALABAMA MARDI GRAS PARADE; 11 HURT

Several members of the Gulf Shores High School marching band were injured Tuesday morning after a car drove into the crowd ahead of the Mardi Gras Day parade.

A city spokespers­on told local media that 11 band members were injured in the crash, and that three of them are in critical condition.

It is the second instance in less than a week of a car crashing into a Mardi Gras crowd. Late Saturday, a pickup plowed into a crowd watching the parade of the Krewe of Endymion, injuring 32 people.
