Let me see if I follow this thought process: Students make the choice to perform poorly in regular school to the point where they are sent to an alternative one, then complain that they can’t learn? And this is society’s fault how, exactly? Brion O’Gachain
I was a public school teacher in an underperforming Title I school due to students just like these. They were too busy misbehaving or wandering off to learn. So, I say, go ahead and put them in the alternative school!
School is what you make of it. If you can’t put forth the effort to behave and learn, then why should you be placed with the regular population that does? And when you are placed in an alternative school, why are you complaining when you’re still not putting in the work? Now, I don’t agree with schools moving kids based on their disabilities, but if you’re just there and occupying space, quit wasting everybody else’s valuable time and leave. Paula Cull
