Thomas spent the 2016 season on the A’s Arizona League team and hit .258 with 18 RBI in 37 games, according to the team. Thomas played for Gateway Community College after graduating from Desert Vista and moved on to play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi before the A’s took him in the 34th round of the 2016 draft.
