CRITIC’S CORNER
SUPERNATURAL CW, 8 ET/PT
Richard Speight Jr., who had a long-running recurring role on Supernatural as The Trickster turned Archangel Gabriel, returns Thursday — but not on screen. He directed this episode, in which Sam and Dean try to help Alicia and Max find their missing mother, who was last seen hunting a powerful witch. And we all know how often that goes badly. Oh, and Mary is beginning to have some doubts about the British Men of Letters — which from the name of the group alone sounds like a wise idea.
SUPERSTORE NBC, 8:30 ET/PT
This NBC comedy ends its second season with a disaster on the way: A tornado is headed straight for Cloud 9, forcing the staff to take cover in what turns out to be uncomfortable pairings. Take special note of that start time: NBC shifted the show’s slot at the last minute last week, which may have caused some fans to miss the wedding episode.
THE AMAZING RACE CBS, 10 ET/PT
Need an escape, or at least an hour-long European vacation? You’re in luck: Race is taking us to one of Europe’s — and the world’s — most gorgeous cities, Venice. Ignore the teams fussing over water taxis and just enjoy the view.
