Venezuela is in crisis, the U.S. should help
LETTERS LETTERS@USATODAY.COM With the ongoing violence in Venezuela,
it’s extremely important to see the value in the U.S. providing aid. U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson of Florida ntroduced a bill to provide Venezuela with $10 million for food and medicine. Not only is this a human rights issue, it’s also a matter of national security.
We’re aware of what’s going on in different areas of the world, and we should use that knowledge to help. Venezuela’s battle against an oppressive regime is just one of many happening today. It’s vital to see the value in investing in other people’s future.
Stability in other areas of the world benefits the U.S. It allows for people to have a better quality of life and be able to purchase U.S. services and goods. We should support other nations through foreign aid to stabilize themselves. By helping others, we are also helping ourselves. Amy Ortega Miami
