TONIGHT ON TV
SUPERGIRL CW, 8 ET/PT For those of you who have missed Calista Flockhart, here’s good near-the-end-of-the-season news: She’s back this week as Cat Grant, who’s paying a visit to National City. Supergirl, however, may not have time for a reunion. She has to decide whether to obey orders from the President (Lynda Carter) about Rhea (Teri Hatcher).
MAN WITH A PLAN CBS, 8:30 ET/PT Matt LeBlanc’s already renewed sitcom ends its first season with Adam (LeBlanc) and Andi (Liza Snyder) considering having another baby. Well sorry, but this show doesn’t need an infant. What it desperately needs is writing on the same high level as Showtime’s Episodes, a series that respects both LeBlanc’s talent and the intelligence of its audience. And it will never get that as long as CBS is content with a mediocre series pulling in mediocre ratings — as the network apparently is, here and elsewhere.
QUANTICO/SCORPION ABC/CBS, 10 ET/PT Both shows wrap up their seasons Monday. Scorpion finds the team still stranded on a deserted island, where relationship issues are getting in the way of their rescue efforts. The team on Quantico, meanwhile, battles to stop the “Collaborators” at a Constitutional Convention from pushing through an amendment that would end American freedom as we know it, which counts as one of the show’s — and the genre’s — more plausible and frightening scenarios.
