WARRIORS’ KERR TO TRAVEL

-

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr hasn’t coached his team since Game 2 of their first- round playoff series, but he’s making progress while battling symptoms from back surgery two summers ago. In fact, he’s planning to travel with the Warriors to San Antonio ahead of Saturday’s Game 3. The Warriors, up 2-0 in the Western Conference finals, have dominated after Spurs superstar Kawhi Leonard injured his ankle in Game 1. “He will be on the trip,” Warriors general manager Bob Myers told 95.7 The Game in San Francisco, confirming what acting head coach Mike Brown told USA TODAY Sports after the Warriors’ Game 2 win against the Spurs. If the fact the Warriors are 10-0 in the postseason wasn’t enough gravy, Golden State is enjoying the increased presence of Kerr in recent days. There remains no timetable for his return, but Kerr was present behind the scenes and vocal for the second consecutive playoff game.
