I’m taken aback by what the Republican Party is willing to accept just to further its own ambitions. Any decent American would not stand for this, no matter his party affiliation. Those that do, do not deserve to be called American but traitors to our Founding Fathers. Marko Karklins

President Trump’s followers will never recognize their hypocrisy or admit to their true motivations for defending someone who doesn’t deserve it. It’ll always be diversions, excuses, false equivalencies and name-calling with them. Tracy Nickerson

Rather than trying to make excuses for the president, Republicans should be providing leadership, staying true to their oaths of office, and serving as credible checks on Trump’s excesses. Karlyn Coleman

So far, nothing that Trump has done is a crime. People might not like what he has done or how, but no crimes have been proven. Chad Clausen
