CELEBRATE: This week marks the 50th anniversary of the Monterey International Pop Music Festival. The original featured ’60s icons including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Janis Joplin, The Steve Miller Band, Simon & Garfunkel and the Grateful Dead. This year’s festival lifts off at the Monterey County Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday and includes such acts as Regina Spektor, Jack Johnson and Norah Jones.

LISTEN: Lorde releases her album Melodrama this Friday. It’s the artist’s second album and the highly anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed debut album, Pure Heroine. The album’s first singles, Green Light and Liability, were released this past March.
