Mueller just shielded himself against Trump

Special counsel Robert Mueller is

playing chess while President Trump plays checkers. News of Trump being investigated for obstruction of justice in the Russia case preempts any chance for the president to fire Mueller as special counsel. Trump should have grabbed the iron while it was hot.

With Mueller being a friend of former FBI director James Comey, whom Trump fired, and with three attorneys in Mueller’s team being supporters of the Democratic Party, you know where this investigation is heading, and it doesn’t bode well for the president. John Lemandri Williamsburg, Va.

If President Trump hasn’t done anything wrong, he needs to shut up and let the investigation take its course. His immature, incompetent tweets are going to be his undoing. The attacks by Republicans against Robert Mueller, after they spoke so highly of him when he was named special counsel, show how hypocritical they are. Mike Bigalow

The Russia investigation will end up finding that there was zero collusion between Trump and Russia, and now investigators have added another part: a supposed obstruction, based on the firing of an employee who Democrats back in November wanted fired in the first place.

This is just a major scandal to remove an elected president whom they view as a threat to their federal money and programs! Some liberals have said since the election that they would work to impeach Trump regardless of what was needed to do so. Cw Hensley

Let’s see, from a percepction standpoint: Trump fired New York U.S. Attorney Preet Bahara for investigating money laundering, he fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates for investigating Mike Flynn, and it also seems like he fired FBI Director James Comey for investigating the “Trump/Russia thing.” And now, Trump threatened to fire Mueller! Obstruction? Johnny Griego
