2018’s top running back picks Georgia

- Josh Barnett @ByJoshBarnett USA TODAY Sports

The Opening begins this week at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., with 166 of the nation’s top football prospects. All but six are from the Class of 2018, with the remainder from the Class of 2019.

One of the top prospects in the Class of 2018 — top-ranked running back Zamir White of Scotland High (Laurinburg, N.C.) — announced his commitment to Georgia on Tuesday. The No. 6 player overall in the class, he chose the Bulldogs over homestate North Carolina, Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.

His addition could give Georgia recruiting momentum as it hopes to follow up a 2017 recruiting class that was ranked No. 3 overall in coach Kirby Smart’s first full cycle.

White’s decision means four of the top 10 players in the Class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, have announced commitments. The remaining six players each have at least 22 offers.

Here are the top 10 players, with position, school and commitment status.
